Grading Procedure

In the General Foundation courses, students are graded according to three criteria:

              a. Their performance on the regular assessment tasks,

              b. Their performance on the mid-course and end-of-course tests,

              c. Their teachers' recommendation, based on observation of general classroom performance.

Based on the above information, an overall proficiency level is determined.

Moderation Procedure

A moderation procedure is an important adjunct to the assessment methods, whereby samples of students' work from different courses are compared across classes within the same level and across levels, in order to ensure consistency and comparability of judgments of English language skills. This moderation shall be undertaken by the course coordinator and approved by the Head of Foundation program.
