The Learning Resources Centre of Sur University College is a gateway to the world of information resources and services, a one-stop place for the faculty and students and the administration staff to achieve their needs from information.

Since the establishment in 2001, LRC is the heart of Sur University College, doing the best to provide resources and services to support curriculum and research needs, in order to help our faculties, staff and students to achieve their personal and professional goals through higher education. LRC dominate its services to students, faculties, staff, and the community at large.

The Learning Resources Center of Sur University College aspires to be one of the most distinguished private academic libraries in the Sultanate of Oman, committed to be a gateway to the world of information resources and services, a one-stop integrated place for the faculty and students and the administration staff to achieve their needs from information through quality resources and services in preparing students for the future. 

Mission Statement

The Learning Resources Center of Sur University College strives to sustain effectiveness, excellence in providing access to relevant information resources and services that meet the needs of the College community and support the teaching, lifelong learning, sustain academic excellence in teaching, learning and research to empower our SUC community to success.

The Learning Resources Center of Sur University College endeavors to:

  • Maintain high standards to be one of the best academic libraries in the Al-Shariqia Region HEI and in the Sultanate of Oman, in general.
  • Attain recognition as a leading research library.
  • Contribute to SUC community priorities via commitment towards excellence and high quality services.
  • Sustain development to meet the changing needs of the SUC community.
  • Serve a larger, more academically prepared and diverse clientele.
  • Build connections through LRC services that enhance the quality of campus and community life.
  • Enrich the teaching, learning and research environment development through maximizing the use of technology in the delivery of LRC services.
  • Contribute to the establishment and continuation of traditions and to take pride in our University College.
  • Promote an organizational culture that maximizes the role of the LRC and helps the librarians to achieve their goals.
