Facilities

Academic Buildings:

SUC’s campus has five, three-floor departments. Each department has a reception area, classrooms, offices, a theater, computer labs, maintenance room, meeting rooms, a central office for the HoD and the main office for the secretary, an elevator, 3 staircases, Wi-Fi, photocopier(s), security cameras, fire alarms, printers and male, female and disabled washroom facilities. Each college also has an employee finger print identification system, banks of student lockers on the main floor, and fire safety measures in place.

Classrooms::

All of the classrooms have similar facilities. Each classroom has 3 white boards, an instructor’s desk, at least two air conditioners, a fixed fan, window blinds and two banks of permanently fixed seating with collapsible writing surfaces. The HEI adheres to local traditions whereby male and female students do not sit together. The vast majority of the classrooms are equipped with overhead projectors.

Labs:

Computer laboratories have been outfitted with individual desks, chairs and PC’s. The Engineering Department has computer, drawing and mechanical laboratories, all of which are developing in accordance to the 2009-2014 Strategic Plan. All of the instructors have their own office. Each office is equipped with a desk and chair on rollers, metal storage area and a landline. Some offices are equipped with printers while others share a common printer. The photocopying takes place in the secretary’s office.
