Program Aims

Department of Business Administration at SUC currently offers the following awards and degrees, upon successfully completion of 60 credit hours for diploma and 120 credit hours for Bachelor with minimum of 2.0 GPA out of 4 :

• Diploma of Business Administration in Accounting
• Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting 

Aim :

The aim of the Accounting program is to develop basic understanding on business and its environment in general and specialized skills in accounting in particular. The program also includes components on finance, banking and economics so that the students get a comprehensive understanding on business and the services that support it.

Objectives:

• Understand the generally accepted accounting practices and accounting policies of professional international bodies and to evaluate their implications to the accounting practice in Oman
• Develop skills such as analyze and interpretation of accounting data for planning, decision making and performance evaluation
• Develop the students as responsible citizens, committed to the society and to the nation as a whole.
• Enable the students to critically analyze the financial reporting issues.
• Enable the students to get a rewarding career in the accounting profession.
• Understand the generally accepted accounting practices and accounting policies of professional international bodies and to evaluate their implications to the accounting practice in Oman.
• Develop skills to exercise effective management control using accounting information.
• Develop research aptitude among the students to undertake accounting related researches in their future studies and career.
