Program Aims
Department of Information Systems and Technology at SUC currently offers the following awards and degrees, upon successfully completion of 60 credit hours for diploma and 120 credit hours for Bachelor with minimum of 2.0 GPA out of 4 :
- Diploma in Information Technology.
- Bachelor in Information Technology.
Aim :
Information Technology program aims to provide appropriate methodologies to manage information technology resources of the organizations. The information technology program provides the skills and knowledge for selecting, creating, integrating and administrating information technologies in organizations and advocates the users in proper application of technologies in societal contexts.
Diploma in Information Technology :
1.Objectives
Diploma in Information Technology Program will enable the students to gain knowledge and skills to:
- Understand Information Technology applications in different fields
- Identify system requirements to develop the programs .
- Apply and share developmental processes and techniques within an informal populated environment.
- Identify the networking technologies and communications with its implementations .
- Describe the internal operation of the CPU and explain how it is used to execute instructions.
- Understand the best practices and standards and their applications in information technology.
- Apply the knowledge of computing and mathematics.
Bachelor in Information Technology :
1.Objectives
Bachelor in Information Technology Program will enable the students to gain knowledge and skills to:
- Understand the information technology concepts, basics of operating systems and system software.
- Understand software development life cycle.
- Apply programming concepts in different system development.
- Conduct research in information technology areas
- Build confidence in formal presentation techniques presenting personal ideas, research concepts and developmental progress.
- Identify the computer architecture and computer graphics technologies with its implementations
- Develop a conceptual vocabulary for analyzing human interaction with software create and develop relational database systems
- Successfully applying information technology in organizational and societal contexts .
- Develop the ethical and professional behavior by working in teams.
